Faux Locs Crochet Hair Review

img_5609img_6487img_5962img_6668img_6591

In total I had seven pack of hair in my head; two 20″ inch Natty Goddess Dreadlocks in the color 2 and five 18″ Bomba Dreadlocks Faux Locs Soul in the color 2. My go-to for crochet is usually faux locs because I love the dread styles and how I look with them. They were really thick and had a reasonable weight for seven packs of hair. I kept my dreads long for about three weeks and then I got really hot. I cut them to be shoulder-length and I really love that short bob look. It’s been about a month and a half and they still look brand new. They do get tangled, but that’s easily fixed with scissors. My only complaint is that the loop for the Natty Goddess hair wasn’t as defined and pre-lopped as the Bomba Faux Soul. Therefore, it would occasionally fall out. I love the hair so much that I took it out and made a crochet wig out of it. A post will be coming soon about that. 😉 I highly recommend the Bomba Faux Soul, if you want more of a realistic dread look. The Natty Goddess Locs have a slight curl to it that I like. Mixing the two different types of dreads had a really nice outcome. Experimenting with hair always brings unexpectedly results.

First Week of Junior Year

I’m finally a junior! I started school on the seventh and my week was technically only two days. I did not take any outfit pictures, even though I looked really cute. The photos above are from my first day. I like all my classes and I’m ready to learn and keep my GPA up. On Thursday, I had marching band practice after school and then work until eight. I was basically running around my first day. That Friday we had our second football and lost, sadly. I’m currently starting my first full week of school and I’m really missing summer right now. Have a blessed school year lovelies. ❤

Back to the Basics Fit

img_6319img_6095img_5962img_5904img_6128img_5953img_6130img_6157

You can never go wrong with black and white for back to school. The easiest way to look cute for school is with basics! This outfit looks effortless and putting it together was effortless. When you don’t want to go back to school, being able to put together an outfit in less than five minutes is a blessing. I’ve had my plain white shirt for a while and I have put together endless of outfits with it. My tulle skirt is a staple in my wardrobe that’s perfect for school, church, and basically any occasion. It’s all about how you pair it. If you want a more casual look, than you can ditch the wedges and pair this look with your favorite sneakers. Versatile looks that can be dressed up or dressed down are perfect for school!

Bold in Blue Fit

This is actually one of my favorite dresses; it gives me young adult vibes. The bold blue works well with the melanin in my skin. I’ve noticed that bodycon dresses typically look better with my body type, so I usually gravitate toward them when shopping. The one thing I did not like about this dress is that the sleeves never stay down. I have to keep pulling on them in order for them to remain being off the shoulder. I am obsessed with my new bag. I got it for myself and I am loving it. It’s the perfect size and really matches the style of I’m going for. My suede pumps are also new. I’ve needed new pumps for a while and I was surprised when I bought these at Forever 21. They are a great quality and were only $20. This is definitely a look I will revisit again.

My Skin Care Routine

My skin care routine is really basic and nothing special compared to other people’s. In the morning, I just wash my face with water. I learned that if you use cleanser too much than it strips the natural oils from your face.

After I wash my face, I use the Target brand Oil-Free Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 to hydrate my face. But don’t get fooled, sometimes I get lazy and use my body lotion as a moisturizer.

At the end of the day, I wipe my face clean with a makeup wipe if I’m wearing makeup. Next, I use my Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser to get rid of all the oil and makeup build up from the day.

About thrice a week, I exfoliate with Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub and a wash cloth. After rinsing with cold water, I apply moisturizer to my face to return moisture to my face after washing.

I keep my skin care routine as simple as possible to ensure that my face doesn’t breakout with an overwhelming amount of product. Occasionally, I use a face mask but not often. My skin isn’t perfect, but it’s pretty clear.

Sleeveless Cardigan & Bodycon Dress Fit

A simple, yet gorgeous fall outfit. I just love the way the cardigan’s texture’s and pattern looks against the burgundy. Personally, I love bodycon dresses. They are always very flattering, except this one kept rising up a lot which I didn’t like at all. You’ll probably continue to see these flats again. They are my go-to whenever I don’t feel like wearing sneakers or heels. They are cute, comfortable and work with everything. My love for this look comes from the simplicity of how it looks. The outfit isn’t overdone and no one piece is fighting for attention.
